Honours and Awards

Having books published is an honour but when other people read them and are so impressed that they give you an award it is truly amazing! The awards I have won are:

• 1994. The Whitley Book Award, Best Children’s book Award for Austranimals. This is given by the Royal Zoological Society of New South Wales. I had to go to Taronga Zoo to receive this award. Magic!
• 1994. The Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children’s Literature for Who Did That?
• 2001. The Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children’s Literature for Where have all the Flowers gone?

My book Flags and Emblems of Australia is number 7 in the top 100 most stocked books in Australian libraries.
